NetApp Supports the WHOLE You

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and experts are voicing more than ever the importance of sound emotional wellbeing in everyday life.

Between rushing to the kids’ soccer match, picking up groceries for dinner and taking the in-laws in for a check-up, life can get hectic. Some of us still manage to fit in our 30 daily minutes at the gym. We go to the doctor for our annual physical exam. When we pull a muscle or get the flu, we get the care we need. We make our physical wellbeing a priority, but do we have the same commitment to building and maintaining our emotional wellbeing?

We all experience more trying times in our lives—trouble focusing, lack of patience, mental fatigue,  marital issues, eldercare, parenting difficulties, financial hardship, just to name a few—and the emotional toll it takes on us. We shouldn’t expect to endure the tough times alone—and we don’t have to.

Your overall wellbeing, including mental and emotional health, are priorities at NetApp. We care about you and your families and want the best health for everyone. That’s why we provide you resources that are effective and easy to use.

  • meQuilibrium, part of MyCompass, helps you build resiliency, a critical skill to deal with everyday stress. Get rewarded by learning new skills!
  • myStrength (available to Anthem members) has real-time self-care tools to proactively manage your sleep, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and other issues that weigh you down.

These free apps empower you to build skills to help you deal with the pressures of everyday life and bounce back from adversity. But for when things get heavier, NetApp has resources in addition to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that connect you to mental health specialists.

  • LiveHealth Online is a telemedicine service that offers Anthem members secure video sessions with a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist from the privacy and comfort of home. It’s available to family members ages ten and up. This service is especially useful if you don’t have the time for a face-to-face session.
  • Kaiser Permanente offers its members several programs designed to help you on your journey to a healthier you.
  • Both NetApp medical plans include mental health/substance abuse benefits, and Sunnyvale employees on the Anthem medical can also access care through Crossover Health.

Don’t hesitate to use the resources available to you. Pay attention to your mind, build up your emotional immune system and get the help you need when you need it.
