Educational Assistance Plan

Regular U.S. employees scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week are eligible to participate in this plan, which reimburses qualified educational expenses as defined by the IRS up to $5,250 per calendar year. These expenses include:

  • Tuition
  • Fees
  • Textbooks

In order to be eligible for reimbursement, courses must meet the following criteria:

  • Be offered by a regionally accredited two- or four-year educational institution (other than a trade or vocational school) or an accredited university offering graduate programs
    • Undergraduate-level courses must be required as part of a degree program
    • Graduate courses that are related to the employee’s current job, current career or a career that could be realistically attainable at NetApp are eligible
    • Courses in sports, games or hobbies are not eligible for reimbursement, unless they are required as part of a degree program

Exceptions include:

  • Employees with a performance improvement plan in place are not eligible to apply for this plan.
  • Employees on a personal non-medical leave during any part of their course of study are not eligible for this plan.
