Prescription drug changes (effective Jan. 1, 2019)
If you use brand-name drugs, you’ll pay coinsurance (instead of a copay), and there’s a set minimum and maximum amount you pay for any prescription. Talk to your doctor about lower-cost drugs and use generics whenever available.
Traditional Plan and Health Savings Plan (HSP)
If you use a maintenance medication to manage ongoing conditions (e.g., high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, diabetes), you must elect a 90-day supply through CVS/caremark retail or mail order, or you’ll pay more.

If you don’t enroll in benefits on your own within 31 days, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the Health Savings Plan with individual coverage. You also won’t be able to participate in the flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and won’t contribute to the health savings account (HSA). You will not be able to make changes to your benefits until the next Open Enrollment period unless you have a Qualified Life Event.
